//ICONS// FIORUCCI... IN REMEMBRACE OF ELIO FIORUCCI

(ELIO FIORUCCI in 1970)
photos via google

IN REMEMBERANCE OF ELIO FIORUCCI
Founder of the Italian label in 1967 which was the first shop to expose Milan to the Swinging London styling and Americana classics such as the jeans and t-shirt and much more... Ahh the 60's.
I remember seeing the cupid like angels logos, pin -ups and overall cheeky-pop art style ads in my Seventeen -Vogue magazines in the 90's. As well as the mall displays in major department stores.
AND I LOVED IT!!
Sadly, Mr. Fiorucci had sold the company in 1990 to the Japanese group Edwin International so I never witness and a real Fiorucci in a sense but the classic pop art influence was still evident in the branding.

MALL RAT stories... I had a Fiorucci denim logo jacket with embroidered cupid logo... man... I wish I still had it... perhaps I should go to the mall or check out e-bay.

Rest in Peace Elio Fiorucci

//OSCARS// FAIRYS - MERMAIDS- MEN IN GEMSTONE COLORS AT THE OSCARS

(photos via Jordan Strauss/Invasion Ap - Kevin Mazur Wire Images)

MOOD
I truly believe... that British Invasion of this year's Oscar's ceremony brought the rain to this Sunday in Hollywood. This was some dramatic rain... so in a way this guest star rain goes...
California in a drought so THANK YOU BRITS FOR THE RAIN. lol

FLORALS AND PEARLS
Fairies and Mermaids
The Fairies: Spring time, flowers blooming like the Valentino embroidered floral bouquet dress; worn by pregnant Keira Knight to the chicness of the single rose style dresses of Gwyneth Paltrow and Rosamund Pike. A single rose speaks volumes.
The Mermaids: Lupita Nyong'o completely covered in white pearls with a total of 6,000... This Calvin Klien dress was just striking. I'm not a big fan of Calvin Klien but this creation is beyond gorgeous. I wonder how heavy it is or how many pearls did she lose after the some time sitting...
Jennifer's Lopez looked like princess the nude color tulle adore with tonal color pearls she looked magical. This is why Elie Saab is always a red carpet favorite. Magic.
Julianne Moore, finally after all these years of being nominated...WON the infamous Oscar for Best Actress for Still Alice. While wearing a custom made sparkly Chanel dress with floral and pearl details.
Beautifully Done. :)

GEMSTONE BOYS
Yes. I love Men wearing color.
Aquamarine: A modern take of the 70's style pale blue tuxedo worn by Jared Leto in Givenchy. A soft spring time color but ...with the all that awesome long hair makes Jared Leto look mysteriously sensitive chic. lol
Sapphire: The big winner for best actor in Theory of Everything, Eddie Redmayne was looking like a tonal gem in his navy with black lapel suit designed by Alexander McQueen always one of my favorites designer yesterday, today and tomorrow. Forever McQueen.
Ruby: Those brits can teach American guys a thing of two about the power of color. Expect Jared Leto, because he get's it. lol
David Oyelowo, looked dashing in this deep ruby colored tuxedo, designed by Dolce and Gabbana.
Thank guys for not depending on the classic black tuxedo...
Congrats.

P.S. CONGRATUALATIONS TO ALL THE NOMEINEES AND OF OFCOURSE THE WINNERS.
SEE YOU NEXT TIME

//EXHIBITIONS// LOUIS VUITTON SERIES 2 EXHIBITION IN LOS ANGELES

(photo and video candidly taken by me and my friends Gabe de Dios and Jason Baird)

A kaladescope exhibition of Louis Vuitton's- Past, Present and Future.
Different rooms... difference experience showcasing an almost interactive full circle of the creative process to the end product. Experience the brand original structure to the present direction of the newish women's creative director Nicolas Ghesquiére
Anything but boring... from neon lights, smoke and mirrors, creating many of optical illusions throughout all of the exhibit. A fun visual history lesson of the brand's journey to the pop with a sexy soundtrack. To real time behind the scenes of products being made, (a dress, the shoe, the bag) which was really cool to witness. The all white accessories room with casted molds of female models with sassy poses, showcasing the bags and shoes of the collection.
The staged backstage room with models, make up artist, production photo stills and more visual information and of course the actual clothes, shoes and accessories. If only back stage was this peaceful during show time... and the runway room where the kaleidoscope exhibition comes to an end.
Bonus, the poster room where you get stickers and a poster of the campaigns through the years.
Exhibition closes this weekend.
Hurry and get you Vuitton On!!

//BEST DRESSED// THE GRAMMY'S 2015 FEATURING JOHN WATERS AND RIHANNA

(PHOTS VIA GETTY IMAGES)

AND... THE BEST DRESSED AWARD GOES TO...
Think Pink... Sweet Chic
The Film maker... overall artist and best dresser... John Waters!!! and Rihanna.
If tonight were the prom and the announcement for king and queen was based on red carpet style for this year's Grammy awards, this pair would be my king and queen. They got my pink vote.
Both looks are fun, playful and sweet. Very sweet like Candy for Mr. Waters and a Cupcake for Miss Rihanna. Sweet Chic.
Sadly, I know for a fact that both of these looks would/ will be on a lot of top critics worse dressed list.  They just don't get it...Which is very sad because their opinion matters to a lot of the basic wearing folks. Keeping their minds in basic mode; closed and scared to explore and play.
Where else came you were a cupcake gown if not the red carpet. Duh.
It's better to be talked about on the red carpet then the... oh yeah she look nice... whatever...
Everyone looks their best at red carpet events...it's the stylist's job and it's hard work...
I should know.

//FASHION ART// BERNHARD WILLHELM 3000: WHEN FASHION SHOWS THE DANGER THEN FASHION IS THE DANGER

Painter/ Graffiti Artist/ Designer..... and friend of mine.... Malcolm Stuart collaborated in Berhard Willhelm's exhibition by spraying the exhibition leaving only the silhouettes behind.
Artist: Bernhard Willhelm and his muses/models
(This last photo of me being silly with my friend Gabe de Dios, signifies my overall reaction to Berhard Wilhelm 300 art/ fashion exhibition at Moca's Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.
Just having fun with art and fashion.)

The multimedia exhibition is congested. From an overload of; imagery and video, bold color, the sound of a bell, and even the smell of fresh paint. My sense were alert. The opening got so crowded at a certain point that my other two senses joined the rest of my senses with touch and the taste of wine. My five senses were united.

When Fashion Shows The Danger Then Fashion Is The Danger
The title of the exhibition is still puzzling to me... where is the danger?
Is the bird the danger... the Japanese kimono / straitjacket tops and dresses or the novelty chilly embellished jacket and spicy color palette clothes, or perhaps the models (oversized artist dummy with glowing heads) with their pacifiers/tongue ring making a can not speak in fashion theme?, maybe dangerous even deadly spice? Or is it the giant S/M blow up dolls and paddles or the dangers of hairspray and body balm... that was carefully displayed on the tables?
Is the danger all of it...trends; the hypes of more and more and new and new....
There are a lot of themes here.
Consumer Dystopia...The evolution of Man is a main theme, from bird to man...man to bird...fashion  as uniform... uniform as fashion...survival? Is Berhard Willhelm making a statement of a fashion consumer will become more of a dystopia in the 22nd century?
Lots of Questions.

For now let's never play it safe...and have Fun.
XO
