A FIRST COLLABORATION BY MARK MORRIS DANCE GROUP AND LA OPERA
THE DANCING
THE INSPIRATION- MILTON'S DREAM BY WILLIAM BLAKE
(Milton sleeping on a bank; Sleep descending with a strange,
Mysterious dream upon his wings, of Scolls & Net & Webs,
Unfolded by Spirits in the air & in the Brook.
Around Milton are six Spirits or Fairies, Hovering on the air,
with Instruments of Music.
THE LIGHTING AND SET DESIGN
The Rhythmic color moving through and the cheeky delicate movements out, "L'Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato" at last night performance at "The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion" at the Los Angeles Music Center; was poetic. To me the performance caputred the Bohemian dream and Wit of Oscar Wilde's writings meets dance. Which was most interesting to hear Opera sung in English. Bravo.
