Alaïa at the Palais Galliera | Musée de la Mode la Ville de Paris
The exhibition provides the first retrospective in Paris dedicated to couturier Azzedine Alaïa.
Since you can not technically take photos of the exhibition I was only able to sneak in a couple good ones. He he.
Alas... his work has to be seen in person, his stitch work, the hand studding and the textures from silk and leather, and over techniques to tailoring.
Like the infamous line from Cher Horowitz from 1995's cult classic film "Clueless" " It's an Alaïa... a very important designer." ; )
The man know's the complexities of the female silhouette. I hope to meet him sometime next year and create something magical.
I was fortunate to view the retrospect the day after it open when the lines where not so long in late September since it was end of fashion week.
The exhibition runs until 26 of January 2014. Magic.
