FIRST FULL MOON OF THE YEAR... MAKE A WISH :)

My L.A. view of yesterday's DAY MOON
MOON CYCLE DANCE :)

January is one extra magical month this year, Hello new year. With five supermoon dates expected the first one was on January 1. January 1 will have the first new moon of the month before another one, which will be on January 30 making January 2014 the only month with two supermoons until January 2018 according to EarthSky.What is a supermoon? Basically, a supermoon is when the moon makes its closest approach to Earth in its orbit than usual, which is seen clearly when there's full moon.Today is the 15th marks the first full moon of the year...the first howl of the year.
"Micro-Moon" is set to peak tonight, January 15. Moon watchers/Romantics will be able to observe the Full Moon appearing approximately 250,000 miles away, 14% smaller and 30% dimmer than the Super Moon, a full Moon having its closest distance to the planet Earth in orbit.
According to the National Geographic report, the Moon will glide closer first to Jupiter in the southeast skies on Tuesday evening, January 14. The space object pairing will be separated at less than five degrees which is estimated to be the same width as the three middle fingers being held out together at arm's length.
I wonder if this explains why there was a day moon yesterday, which made me document such a rare sighting....
As a hopeless romantic, I will be watching the moon tonight.
MAKE A WISH
XO
